congratulations! The first trimester of pregnancy spans from conception (or the first day of your last menstrual period) to the end of the 13th week. During this period, the fertilized egg develops into a fully formed embryo, and many of the baby's vital organs begin to form. Common symptoms include fatigue, nausea, breast tenderness, and frequent urination.
Lasting from week 13 to week 27, the second trimester of pregnancy is often thought of as the best part of pregnancy. For many people, morning sickness and fatigue from the first trimester go away at this point. The fetus continues developing during this trimester — adding weight and taking on the features of a newborn. You’ll have an ultrasound during the second trimester to make sure the fetus is developing as it should.
The final 12 weeks of a full-term pregnancy are known as the third trimester of pregnancy. The third trimester can be full of excitement. It also may challenge your body and mind.
The size and position of the unborn baby, also called a fetus, in the uterus might make it hard for you to get comfortable. You may be tired of pregnancy and eager to move on to the next stage. And you might feel let down if you don't give birth by your due date.
