A doula is a trained, non-medical support professional who offers continuous physical, emotional, and informational support during pregnancy, labor/birth, and postpartum care.
The Doula is a non-medical support professional offering doula services throughout the pregnancy and postpartum care. The Client understands and agrees that: The Doula does not perform clinical tasks, such as blood pressure checks, fetal heart monitoring, vaginal exams, or catching the baby. The Doula does not diagnose medical conditions or provide medical advice. Instead, the Doula supports the Client in advocating for their own preferences without making decisions for them. Moreover, the Doula collaborates with the Client's medical care providers (Doctor, Midwife, Nurses) and does not interfere with their medical care.
The Doula agrees to provide the following doula services:
One initial visit, complemented by up to eight additional visits that may be arranged in any combination of prenatal and postpartum care.
Support during labor and delivery. Please note that support during labor is not guaranteed.
Additionally, up to two extended three-hour postpartum visits will be provided after the end of a pregnancy to ensure comprehensive pregnancy support.
All insurance billing for doula services, including postpartum care and pregnancy support, occurs only after services have been rendered.
Non-covered services: Prenatal or Postpartum Massage or Bone Closing, or Quantum Reiki Services. Payment link is provided via email or text.
Either party may terminate this agreement at any time for any reason by providing written or verbal notice to the other party. For example, a doula providing postpartum care may terminate the agreement if a client is not following their OBGYN medical advice or if they decide to leave the hospital against medical advice, which can hinder the pregnancy support they need.
The Client hereby releases the Doula from any liability for any injury or damages that may occur to the Client or infant during the birth process, as long as the Doula has acted within the scope of their training and this agreement. The Client understands that while the Doula provides essential pregnancy support and postpartum care, they are not responsible for medical outcomes.
